AIT Hackers Association

AIT HACKERS ASSOCIATION is back. Fellow Hackers, Time, they say, is the most important asset in our fraternity. And I agree to the same in my full being. Agreed that we have not been in touch for a while, but DO NOT ASSUME IT AS OUR DEATH... mind you, "WE ARE ALIVE". Yes, we are damn alive and we have been working day in and day out to create stuff that you, the fellow hackers would love to be a part of. A) First and foremost, AHA, which was initially started as an informal student organisation has off-shooted itself into a formal registered club, by the name of Open Source Activities Centre. Visit : http://aitoss.net Congratulations everyone! B) Then, We have successfully completed designing of the new AIT College Website. The demo version is available at http://aitoss.net/beta So it is a humble request to all to visit it, and provide us with your valuable feedback. We can now boast of the best web facilities available for ourselves: 1. online project manageme...

What iss Lov ?

Its been quite sometime that I haven’t posted here on my blog … Its not that I don’t think of writing or I care if anyone’s reading my posts or not … But the problem lies somewhere else … Almost everyday I open my blogging account , click on the write post link and as I am about to start typing I realise that I dont have anything to write about … And even if I have anything to write about I feel that its not worth writing here … This has become almost a routine activity nowdays … And steadily my desire to blog has been diminishing … Perhaps I should take sometime off blogging and when I feel that I have enough content worth writing , probably then I will start posting again … for the meantime, here's what's been eating my head. What is love? Its not really easy to put up in words but there will surely be instances in your life when you really have that extraordinary feelings for somebody, feelings that aren't easy to express, situations neither you or sh...

Opening Post

iCode : Do You Love Coding As Much As We Do ? for a demo : visit : http://inspirators.homelinux.net/iCode iCode is a GIT hosting facility, with custom administration tool and web interface. Thus iCode is much much ahead of being just a normal git server. I assume you have a decent knowledge of what GIT and version control is. In case you don't, here's the resource. http://git-scm.com Now, moving ahead. Every Git clone is a full-fledged repository with complete history and full revision tracking capabilities, not dependent on network access or a central server. Branching and merging are fast and easy to do. Pre-Installation Before starting, make sure that: 1. You already have a Ubuntu 9.04 installed on your server. 2. You have a working internet connection. The following instructions will guide you on how to set up and run a fully managed iCode for projects using git on your server. We assume a setup of 2 Computers. The SERVER and the MANAGER. On the SERVER 1. sudo apt-get in...

By default, the root password is set to some hash during the fresh install. so if you want to change it to your own, do the following. sudo passwd Type in the new password for root and you are done.

I am a COMPUTER ENGINEER

I am a Computer Engineer . I know what you're thinking. You're thinking, "That guy is Cool". You're so right. I don't like to brag, too much, but I'll let you in on some details. I have many friends in chat rooms. I have excellent contacts but I prefer to wear glasses because they make me look so cool. Many women want me to fix their computers. I frequently get laid off. I know many languages: Java, C, C++. I travel to many exotic places in online games I'm into sports drinks. I collect fancy cars. Most are still in their original Hot Wheels packaging. I smell good so I don't shower very often because I don't want to ruin it. I have a black belt that I wear when I can't find my suspenders. I know that you're now thinking "I want to be that guy." But you can't. I was here first. Courtesy: an unknown blog with an unfamiliar name. Anyways, thanks. Prince Mishra Computer Engineer

DAY 3 - System programming

Prince Mishra had his third exam today, and he found it AWESOME! The last two..well they were not nice at all and although I'm pretty sure I've passed, it won't be a triumphant pass! Today's paper went pretty well, I thought - there are a few places where I fudged a bit, but only a few. Again, it appears to be more a prize for memorizing past papers than it is an engineering exam, since the paper was almost identical in format to last year's, and the year before that - but, hey, I'm not complaining, since most of my revision is done with past papers. Thank you techmax, thank you brilliant jigar :)

The Dark Night

No, I did not misspell the Batman Superhit! its my way of describing the NIGHT before the exam! Yes, I have my CN exam tomorrow noon! I haven't yet read the chapters..and what do I have? 15 hours for 12 chapters..that's like 1.25 hours per chapter..60 pages an hour..1 page a minute...Completely doable ! No, I am not psyching out. I am not distressed. But why is it that on every night before the exam, I have to pray to God if he could just give me one more day! If... And the dark night hails on..

exams...again...

Had the PPL exam yesterday. No surprise - I elegantly fried it. I haven't had such a frustrating exam in AIT since the M3 exam last sem. But there's no time to ruminate at all, for I have MIS and SP, both of which are 0% complete! :(

Get BrainF*cked

>+++++++++[<++++++++>-]<.>+++++++[<++++>-]<+.+++++++..+++.[-] >++++++++[<++++>-] <.>+++++++++++[<++++++++>-]<-.--------.+++ .------.--------.[-]>++++++++[<++++>- ]<+.[-]++++++++++. What the hell is this? well, it's the "hello world" program in brainfuck! Did I say "brainfuck?" yes, that's exactly what I said! but what on earth is that? oh well, it's a programming language! Tired of good old programming languages whose goal it is to make your life easier? Feel like stretching the 'ol grey matter a bit? Then this is the thing for you! Created by Urban Mueller, Brainfuck is an eight instruction Turing-complete programming language. This means that it can be shown to be equivalent to a Turing machineand therefore capable of performing any computation. oh, that's just to sound a little techie! ;) All it means is that you can write any program in bra...

Linux is not for everyone

Just thought of bringing down my posts in different other blogs to this one place. This one was published in the college magazine "SRIJNA" last year. LINUX IS NOT FOR EVERYONE ! I'm not a technical writer. I'm not someone who's only used the most well known Operating Systems. And most importantly, I'm not someone who is going to try and convince you that you need to switch to Linux if you're currently using Windows. Let me go one step further... I'm going to tell you why Linux is NOT for you. I love Linux. I use it on my laptop, it powers my MOTO ROCKR E6, the new SONY BRAVIA HDTV has it, and heck, I even run Linux on my D-Link LAN card, which hooks my network shebang together. But, Linux isn't for everyone. Seriously. Here are my top five reasons why you shouldn't move to Linux . . .
