Facebook app development

FB is cool. So better have an app for OSAC or iCode on Fb. May be something like SPOJ or codechef.com can have FB apps where signed up users could compete against each other. What I mean is that, say there are 2 users user1 and user2, then user1 should be able to challenge user2 on some particular programming problem. If user2 agrees, then they both get to code, the judging is done ny our code. And all this activity is published on their FB stream . like "user1 challenged user2 on problemno.2" "user2 accepted the challenge" "user1 scores 100 and user2 scores 200, hence user2 wins" We can have something like this for solutions also. like google code jam. 100 coding problems would be released on a particular date. Each problem has with it, 2 input files and one sample output file. one of the two inputs is a small one, of which corresponding output file is also provided. what is expected out of the user is that he should code the solution , then test ...

Seach public pics on flicker

While blogging, I keep needing images that I can use. Though I have no issue using proprietary one from google, however it would be best if I could put flickr to some use and develop an app that searches the flickr.com and returns me images of my choice. It's jquery and JSOn that I have used. Thanks google! here is the code <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <style>img{ height: 100px; width: 100px; margin: 5px 5px 5px 5px; float: left; border: solid black}</style> <script src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-latest.min.js"></script> <script> function fetchJSON() { var tag = document.getElementById('input'); // document.getElementByID("input"); $.getJSON("http://api.flickr.com/services/feeds/photos_public.gne?jsoncallback=?",    {      tags: tag.value,      tagmode: "any",      format: "json"    },function(data) {    $.each(dat...

Why a new blog?

http://mishraprince.blogspot.com was doing all well then why this new blob? Well, I saw vijender sir's blog and realized that a blog can be a best reference repository. So this won't be a techy techy blog, rather it will have all the content that I am working on, or have planned to work on in near future. Just  for future reference.

Be the change you want to be!

A friend of mine, Integrator, recently pointed out that I have either written about love or about technology. And when I come to think of it, it is quite true to some extent. Though I have drafts on all sorts of topics ranging from education to money, from politics to bollywood. But none of them achieved the state of completion. Not because I don't want to, but because I believe I am too small a man to comment on the world's greatest problems. I, so terribly wanted to comment on the ayodhya issue, and about suresh kalmadi and common wealth games, and about arundhati roy but restrained because I thought "what difference is it going to make". However a quick retrospection told me that I, too, had given up hope. The hope that we will ever be the country Rabindranath used to talk about. The land Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high So today I decided to complete one such article. It's an old one. So bear with me. And thankfully, it's not...

There's a reason for everything

While googling last night, I came across this wonderful quote by marlyn monroe : "I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together." And yes, my conclusion says, yes, everything does happen for a reason. And there is a lesson to be learnt in every quest. The key is, to be able to recognize what the lesson is. I know that often times I do not recognize why something happened at first or why some person came into my life at the time they did. And why I could not continue to be with them. Why I could not make it to the future with them alongside. Sometimes it may be days, weeks, even months later that I can look at what happened and say “Ah ha! That is why that happened the way it did. Because if that hadn’t happened (w...

An Open Declaration of Love

I PULLED my eyes from the dustry window of my room 005C, from the view of that wired-fence that wraps AIT, and watched my room-mate Sarkar, struggled to raise himself from his bed. It was 6 in the evening and he had had his length of the little evening nap. “You can’t get up, Dude.” I pressed my fingers into his shoulder, and he glared at me, his brown eyes wild with sleep. “What is Love ?”, I asked. Startled by this  Avatar , he replied, “It's too tricky. You won't understand.” Why would I not understand ? Am I too bad a thinker ? Or I am too bad a person ? He had just put me into deep retrospection. Am I different ? Or is it just because I think too much ? Or is it because I AM DIFFERENT ?  If I were asked to define and confine myself using only one term, I wouldn't hesitate long before I chose the word "geek." Not many in AIT would like to be called by that word, but I am what I am. And whether they agree or not, there are a lot of “me” out there, reading ...

AIT Hackers Association

AIT HACKERS ASSOCIATION is back. Fellow Hackers, Time, they say, is the most important asset in our fraternity. And I agree to the same in my full being. Agreed that we have not been in touch for a while, but DO NOT ASSUME IT AS OUR DEATH... mind you, "WE ARE ALIVE". Yes, we are damn alive and we have been working day in and day out to create stuff that you, the fellow hackers would love to be a part of. A) First and foremost, AHA, which was initially started as an informal student organisation has off-shooted itself into a formal registered club, by the name of Open Source Activities Centre. Visit : http://aitoss.net Congratulations everyone! B) Then, We have successfully completed designing of the new AIT College Website. The demo version is available at http://aitoss.net/beta So it is a humble request to all to visit it, and provide us with your valuable feedback. We can now boast of the best web facilities available for ourselves: 1. online project manageme...

What iss Lov ?

Its been quite sometime that I haven’t posted here on my blog … Its not that I don’t think of writing or I care if anyone’s reading my posts or not … But the problem lies somewhere else … Almost everyday I open my blogging account , click on the write post link and as I am about to start typing I realise that I dont have anything to write about … And even if I have anything to write about I feel that its not worth writing here … This has become almost a routine activity nowdays … And steadily my desire to blog has been diminishing … Perhaps I should take sometime off blogging and when I feel that I have enough content worth writing , probably then I will start posting again … for the meantime, here's what's been eating my head. What is love? Its not really easy to put up in words but there will surely be instances in your life when you really have that extraordinary feelings for somebody, feelings that aren't easy to express, situations neither you or sh...
